Patents
Your
patent gives you the right to exclude third parties from
making, using or selling the protected invention in the countries where
filed for a period of years from the date of filing. The requisites for
patentability are unobviousness, novelty & utility; the
interpretation of those requirements by the courts plays an important
role in the development of patent law.
To protect a patentable concept or to avoid infringement upon another’s
patented concept, Fay Sharpe conducts patent searches and studies on
behalf of its clients; renders patentability, patent validity and
patent infringement opinions; and prepares, files and prosecutes patent
applications (utility and design) before the U.S. Patent and Trademark
Office (USPTO), and around the world through our network of
foreign associates.
