William (Bill) Ryan


Practice/Technical Competence

Bill has experience in patent preparation and prosecution in the mechanical, manufacturing, industrial, and material science arts. Bill’s wide range of technical expertise includes liquid crystal technology and manufacturing equipment, 3D printing materials and machines and wearable technology devices. Bill also has experience in trademark matters including enforcement, searches and prosecution.

Bill has 8 years of industry experience. Prior to joining the firm, Bill worked as a research associate and product development engineer at AlphaMicron Inc., integrating their unique liquid crystal technology into architectural, automotive, military, and wearable products. Part of his work included assisting in-house counsel and working with other inventors in the company to create invention disclosures for their IP portfolio. During his final year of law school, Bill clerked at an Intellectual Property boutique in Akron, Ohio where he conducted legal research and provided technical expertise in infringement and patentability matters.
